Cylinder head gasket - removal & replacement

You can remove the cylinder head from the engine with the exhaust manifold 
attached with no problem, i've done it before.  But you must disconnect the 
exhaust manifold from the downpipe first by removing those six bolts.  If you 
have already done this I can't see why it would not pull off.  Shake it 
around a bit.
