who needs torq specs?

about 2 weeks ago one of the guys i share the shop with (name withheld to 
protect the guilty)was replacing his rear wheel bearings. watching him do 
this i asked if he wanted the torq specs from the bentley. his reply was "no 
i'll be fine" and he proceeded to tighten them down with an impact gun. 
well, last night while traveling down rt.6 it seems that his rear tire, hub 
and all fell off. looks like he tightened them down just a "little" to much, 
and the bearing fragmented under the pressure. maybe he'll think twice next 
time!
