OT Beatle, old one

I'm pretty sure they don't anymore though. I know in NM there was a big
stink about this a year or two ago. DOT made the owners take the cars off
the road and destroy them because they were "new" cars and hadn't been
tested for new car safety standards.

BTW, they ran off of a Digifant based fuel injection system. Also had
catalytics and fairly nice interiors (for a beetle).

Lots of old beetles around here wound up with new beetle parts after that
scandal.

there is a compagny that imports the "new" old bettles to the usa, can't
recall the name of the place, but I know it is pretty good, and the prices
are like 12-16K for one of those new updated Mexican bettles.

I just got back from a cruise, we stopped in Cozmel Mexico. When we were
there I rented an old school beatle convertable. It was pretty new though,
and let me tell you it was so much fun. It accelerated much better than I
thought it would. Anybody put any thought, or know if it would be easy to
get one of these suckers over here to the US. Im on a mission guys.
Getting a beatle convertable has just been put on my life list of things to
do. Peace
