filling in the seams

while changing over to euro bumpers i noticed a little rust on the back end 
that i'd thought i'd take care of while i'm at it. the rust spot is right 
next to one of the seams on the rear end, so i got to thinking that i could 
fill over these seams and go for that seamless look. has anyone tried or 
done this? i'm concerned about the bondo not holding.
