find a socket that just fits through a hole in the sprocket, rotate the sprocket as to wedge the socket against the head (at a low spot), now put a big ol' breaker bar on that nut. Once the nut is off the pulley comes off easy, and the seal can be changed without disassembly if you are careful with a set of sharp needle-nose pliers.

  Subject: Camshaft seal

I plan on replacing the problematic oil seal in the distributor on my 16V.I also want to replace the valve cover gasket and the camshaft oil seal. there is a leak around the camshaft sprocket but i can't tell whether it's the gasket or the seal leaking. The bolt that holds the sprocket to the camshaft is very tight and I don't have an air wrench.
Anybody knows how to loosen it?
  Demetri
