  There are 'shim kits' available that will allow you to adjust  the stub
axles enough to restore proper alignment.  At least that's what the
alignment shop told me.  I made my own shims and things are still good two
years later.

 Solid mounts will undoubtedly transfer more vibration to the car.  Benefit
would only be to very aggressive drivers, i.e. those who drive aggressively
much of the time, like when doing alot of autocrossing. It would keep the
engine/transaxle from moving around as much and tearing the stock mounts.
