Lightened Flywheels



I disagree, I think you would have less engine braking with a lightened
flywheel...

When you downshift the engine wants to increase rpm.  With a lighter
flywheel it will rev up faster right... so it gets up to a higher rpm with
the lightened f/w ---> greater speed,

or consider it this way...  with a heavier flywheel it takes more force to
increase rpm, so more of the cars momentum is transfered into energy stored
in the flywheel... and more momentum is removed from the car..

please don't bash my physics too hard, it was only my minor, and it's been
years...
