engine life span



once when i was living in Seattle, i drove an '87 16v with 300K+ on it!! and 
here is the kicker, original clutch!! it was just getting to the point where 
it need to be replaced. great car. now if you look at my car, the engine 
blew (while going 120 for 15 miles) when it had about 150-160K (i think, 
clock stopped at 112K)
