cross drilled rotors Scott Williams is WRONG!

Quoting McGarvey here (I think)

>getting a larger diameter system would be

Uh, pretty big ol' assumption yer makin' there pard. In my own little
world, I consider any increase in mass significant, especially unsprung,
especially especially rotating unsprung. That's just the last place I would
go to improve braking performance.

The whole thing is that we don't need it! OK, if any of us have vented
rotors with decent pads, some "open" wheels and some decent ducts, but STILL
can't get the wheels to lock up in the middle of whatever hellatious race
they are racing, then be my guest and bump up to a bigger disc.

I just don't understand the urge some of us are displaying to actually get
bigger discs. I really don't understand what would prompt you to head off
in that direction. As we have said all along, if you are doing SCCA Club
racing or something, then maybe you need it. Who knows, maybe one or two of
us lives in Colorado and refuses to put the car in gear when cruising down
multi-mile long hills. Other than that, why get bigger discs?
