16v assembly trouble

Thanks Peter, I have an antique "push it in the hole" type of compression
tester and of course that is of no value where a 16v is concerned.

I've reset everything based upon the flywheel TDC mark which looks to be
correct. Now I have another question that stems from my ignorance of
electronic ignition. In the old days, oh I'm old, so rather I should say =
in
the time of points and condenser a test light could be put on to get to t=
he
approximate ignition timing. Then when it was running the dynamic timing
light would finish the job. How do you set the ignition timing up for the
first run? The timing light is rather pointless before it runs.
