How to fix cracks in dash (Was: Re: Cracked dash pictures...)

I picked up a vinyl repair kit for a couple of bucks at PepBoys. Does
anybody know if this stuff works? I have some scrap to try it on, but in
true form, I haven't done it yet. It has like 8 color mixing dyes and a
soldering iron with a flat disc for a tip, as well as various spreaders and
stuff. Looked promising. What do you guys think?
