euro light ?

how did you guys set up your eurolights? i'm using the stock high beam plug 
for the driving light and wiring in a switch for the small plug on the side 
of the regular beam, which i'm putting a blue colored bulb in. i have been 
told by more than one that this is not the way to install them, but i'm not 
going to hurt anything am i?
