digifitz

Well you better start to study the wiring diagrams right now ;)

And after that, you have to match the actual wires from your
cluster connector to the digifiz connector.

You will need some more wire to get connected to this digifiz,
as an example the flasher are separated, so you need to probe
them near the flasher stick. And some wires are useless in the digifiz!

You have to be careful and make sure that all wire are correct before
putting the power ON, else you might easily burn the circuit inside!

I still have all the detail writen on the diagrams in my closet ;)
but these are a little messy... I can try to clean up that and make
some good details of what to connect... wire to wire... Mostly are
matcheable by the colors, but some aren't!

I know that Cory Langford "corylang@dccnet.com" got one last summer
but had no time to put it in the rocco yet... Maybe now he did!?!?!?
If not well I will help two rocco owners at the same time!

The only thing that isn't working on mine is the outside temperature,
this might be my sensor that is wrong... but couldn't find where is
located... We told me near the front bumper.. but I have nothing
that look like a temp sensor there!!!!

So at least you need to have all the parts for installing it:

- Speedway sensor, if you don't have one Cory told me that
you can get the sensor out of the new model since they are
also digital sensor!!! Might ask dirk for the part number, you
get it from the golf 93 and up. about 100$

- Little pin of metal that goes inside the connector in a box that
is located in the raintray, that you will need to add it to that connector
where you will now probe the RPM. Unused in the connector right now.

- The diagrams, that is very usefull.

- Since the digifiz are coming from a golf, the metal bracket aren't well
made
for the rocco, so if you want to make a clean job like I did, you will have
to custom some yourself. I know that dirk simply use some cutted foam!

- Make sure you have the two connectors that fit the digifiz.

- A good welding tool/shrinking tube/electric tape/cutter and lot of wires!

- Make sure to connect the speedway sensor to a switched power, since you
don't want the speedway sensor to be always on power.. Dirk had to change
that after.

Actually this is all I remember right now... So good diagrams studies and
lots of
time... don't go fast, you will misplug something ;)
I have done it in 2 months, by working 2-3 hours per weekend since my
car was in storage for the winter... And after I had to fix few more wires
for 2 full days, to make it working and clean!

you do realize there is 34 wires + sensors to connect that puppy, you'l
need 3-4 days to get it functional if you have a complete kit
ask Joel Leclerc (member or on the list or Dirk from germany (lister also)
they might give oyu an idea how long it truly takes.
