16v exhasut rattle and swaybar question...

I had a similar problem with my 8v downpipe rattling on my eurosport race
sub frame, I cut the pipe and redid a new pip in a shape that would "miss:"
the bar by a few inches above it, no more ratle.

  i have been fighting and exhaust rattle on my 88 16v for quite some time
now.  what's happening isunder acceleration in first and second, the
exhauset is rattling like crazy on the front swaybar.  to date i have done
an OE spec pass side mount, napa quality rear tranny mount, and a HD front
mount. i have noticed that the rear mount is twisted a little when it is
tightened up.  i'm not positive if the frame is straight, as the car has
been totalled before.  my dad and i thought that he got it within spec, so
is there a good amount of adjustment in the side mounts?

  also, i was wondering if the stock 16v front swaybar is supposed to be
bent down in hte middle?  i don't thing i've bent it with the exhaust, but i
could be wrong.  i would havew thought that the down pipe would have crushed
before it bent the swaybar.
