I've typed this so many times, you get the quick version.

I have, no leak, surface rust, was coated, good
friend 1, no leak, polished, good
pseudo friend, popped weld on shield, rattled and leaked, fixed,
partially coated, good
shifty friend, will never use to potential, still coated, good

I've never had a car running the a TT downpipe, so I can't compare. 
We've all changed over because of cracked manifolds.
