170 HP?
I am currently building a 2.0 ABA motor for my 1985 8 valver that is going
to hopefully emulate my buddy's motor in his Scirocco. The basic setup is
a 2.0 ABA OBDI bottom end that has been freshened, a 1.8 solid lifter head
with a stage III porting job, a Schrick 286 cam, adjustable timing gear, TT
downpipe and exhaust and a tricked out CIS setup that should be good for
about 145-150 hp and good torque. I think that the 286 is a bit extreme
but it will at least be fun to drive!
