Do these things work?



I really doubt you would see too much effect on a g60 or a Vw where the
intake manifold sits right over top of the exhaust manifold.  Worse than
that, the high grade phenolics wich are much more expensive can only handle
temperatures around 425 degrees before they start to delaminate.  This is a
standard cloth epoxy phenolic, the higher grades are green in color, G-5,
G-7 and such,  so I would not feel comfortable placing it above my exhaust
manifold.  Headers are known to reach 1600 degrees so I'm sure you can see
my point.

It might work OK on a crossflow head.
