Derrick, you're nuts. A 400hp 1.8l is going to make for an unreliable
beastly driving motor that you're going to have to run on race gas *all* the
time. Your turbo will have to be huge which means lots of spool time (unless
you run a shot of nitrous). Why not shoot for something more "reasonable"
like 300hp. Not only is a 400hp motor going to be troublesome, you'll have
to majorly upgrade your gearbox, driveshafts, and chassis, too. Finally,
you'll need slicks to put that power down.

Have you ever driven a 400hp FWD car? How about a car with half that power?
Even 200hp is pretty damned exciting!

  no faith.
here is the setup i'm thinking about. 1.8L with forged piston and
rods(haven't made up my mind on compression), copper headgasket, t3/t4
turbo, SDS, ported and polished head and intake manifold with a 5 angle
valve job, i'm trying to make about 400hp and the car is going to me my
daily driver. i'm going to use a G60 tranny with a quafe and forged gears.
