Don't know if I spelled your last name right, sorry if I didn't.  Anyhow, I 
stripped down my 16v this weekend.  Went from a whole engine on a stand down 
to the block.  I'm taking it to get cleaned next weekend.  Just from looking 
at the cylinder walls, it has some scoring and in some places the rings wore 
through the cross-hatching.  I'm just gonna clean her up, try honing it out, 
put on new bearings all around,and some new rings.

About the head:  has anybody ever dynoed that 1.8 head on a 2.0 block?  If 
it's something like a 2 hp gain, I'm not going to worry about it.  The 2.0 
head I took off was pristine, I mean beautiful.  I want to give the dumpy 
1.8 head I have to Will.  And anyhow,  2.0 output is pretty beefy as is.  
Beats 90 hp anyday.

Can't wait to drop the 8valve
