4k with an agb 5th?



actually, the agb 5th would be WORSE. the reason top end changes with a 4k is not due to the 1st -
5th gears, its due to the different final drive (3.94 in 4k vs. 3.67 in agb/9a). the 4k is basically
an 8v tranny with a narrower final drive. putting the agb 5th in there would make matters worse (.91
for agb, .89 for the 4k/9a). a more ideal solution is what ron pieper did to his 4k (.80 5th), or
even better a .71 5th if you can get your hands on one. the .71 may make it a bit steep, but it
would be a nice cruising gear for long highway hauls.
