Bolt removal recommendations.



While I've never snapped those particular bolts, I've snapped my fair
share in my lifetime...  I'm not so sure heating the bolt would be the
best course of action.  Heating it might free up the rust a bit, but
will also expand the bolt - not what you want.  You should heat the
area around the bolt and then attempt to remove it... (if enough of the
bolt is sticking up to clamp a vise-grip on it consider yourself
lucky...)

Can't really comment on the "quenching" suggestion as I've never tried
it, but if all else fails I guess it can't hurt, but if you cool it too
rapidly with the water it could harden the bolt, which may not be the
result you want - especially if you end up having to drill the bastard
out...

If you're using a reverse-thread-type remover, always use the largest
size for that particular bolt...
