16v key

Uh, you just have to go to a locksmith that isn't acting like a little baby.
The small shops will whine and moan because they need to get as much mileage
out of their cutting wheel as possible; which isn't tough with alloy keys.

As for re-keying the locks for a used key....

I have the same blank, I just hope you get lucky and the dealer or someone
else will cut it for you.  The blanks are steel and I haven't been able to
find anyone within a 50 mile radius of me that has a key cutter that can cut
steel keys and the local VW deal completly refused to cut it for me.
