Stranded cont' (long-n-funny)

Much thanks to all responders......however.....we drove the 45 miles back to 
the car and realized wifey never had a key on her set. Damn #1...Have friend 
drive in with keys....it's getting dark. Damn #2...release cable from clutch 
pedal, it's practicaly new and NOT BROKEN!! Damn #3.....The friggin sleeve 
at the firewall that holds the end of the sheath was sheered off at the 
firewall. Thus everytime I did the clutch, all it did was take out the slack 
instead of pullin the actual cable. Thank goodness walmart as an all 
nighter.....now, what to substitute for car parts?....ah yes electrical tape 
and hose clamps!!!I'll spare you all the details, (use your imagination :) 
Anyway, it worked. It's a little sloppy at the top but releases about mid 
push...good enough to NOT have to speed shift all the way home. Now to find 
a good welder.....
