[ot] is this bad/lazy driving ???

I have actually taught my children to utilize the car straightening itself
by keeping the hand(s) in contact with the steering wheel but loosely so the
wheel will turn but in touch enough so that they can maintain control as
necessary. I find trying to "guide" the steering wheel back to a straight
position actually results in poorer steering results. And yes the books say
two hands on the wheel at the 10 and 2 positions but I usually reserve that
for high speed interstate driving and around town use one hand as I find I
am able to react faster with one hand on the wheel and the other ready to
assist as needed.
