GTI?  You said "major" player, as in billion-dollar aftermarket (isn't that
the definition of 'sport tuning'?)
VW not want to be a luxo-maker?  how about the new W-12 Phaeton?  the new V8
Passat?  the new VW Touareg(available with V6, V8, V10, or W12...prices
starting at $30K, with the V8 going for $40K.  Care to speculate what the
W12 will list for?)
And you don't think VW is after the luxury buyer.......?

Hey, even the Scirocco, in it's day, wasn't a cheap car.
