No one's ever protested it and I've run about 20 Cendiv's with them on. =
I agree that according to the rules the 16V bar is illegal because it =
has to be bolted to the chasis of the car, but the Autotech bar =
actually bolts to the lower right and lower left suspension mounting =
points. It bolts on using the front control arm bolts and in the rear =
they have factory control arm brackets (suspenion mountin point) with a =
brace welded between them. =20
Every upper bar I've seen works the same way, by bolting to both the =
front and rear studs of the strut bearings. Everyone and their brother =
has the same design there. I actually went to the 4 point because it =
seems to meet the letter of rules vs. the triangulation of the 16V bar. =
I'd be willing to fight a protest at a national level, or send a =
question to the board about it being legal.=20

I'm curious how you manage to run in FSP with the Autotech 4 point.
SCCA National Solo rules, para 14.2 C states (in part)
"Strut bars may be mounted only transversly across the car from upper =
right to upper left suspension mounting point and from lower right to =
lower left mounting point. No other configuration is permitted."
That seems to exclude not only the Autotech, but also the factory 16V =
stress bar when applied to an 8V car.
So, is anybody running these at the national level???

I've had both. I replaced the factory 16V piece with the Autotech 4 =
point. I could tell the difference on the Auto-X course, but not really =
on the street. Keep in mind that I use 13" x 9" wheels with Hoosier =
Auto-Xers to race and 14"x6" Dunlop D60 A2's for the street, so I don't =
have much grip around town.

So what's the overall opinion of the stock 16V lower stress bar =
vs. and after market bar from Neuspeed or Autotech? There are a lot of =
bends in the VW part so does this reduce it's electivity?=20
Anyone have an opinion on the Autotech sub-frame as well?
Thanks!
