If it were not a valid e-mail address, they would get an automatic message
telling them that it was undeliverable.  I reply to all junk e-mails that
make it past my filters with "remove" in the subject line.  Seems to help a
lot.  If you reply fast enough, you can even catch the ones that kill their
reply addresses so you can't catch them.
