suspension?

Tartantulas have an offset of 38mm.

All reputable wheels have the offset stamped on them,
usually near the lug holes. looks like this: "ET38"

Jeebus, I hate html in email!

<P>Hey Im at school now but when I get home tonight
Ill measure my wheels, the ones that are on there
stick pretty far out so im sure the offset is NOT
stock.&nbsp; The wheels i just got will sit in about a
quarter of an inch more.&nbsp; I measured the offset
already, but I dont remember what it is.&nbsp; I
already rolled the wheel wellls some, and I took out
the front inner fender panels. Ill take a look at the
shocks and springs and get back to you soon, Thanks

<DIV></DIV>&gt;
<DIV></DIV>&gt;you mention the rims and need to check
offset, but you failed to mention
<DIV></DIV>&gt;what rims you had (with offset) and
what rims you whent too (with new
<DIV></DIV>&gt;offset) that stopped rubbing. I Had
stock 13" tarantulas with offset I

<DIV></DIV>&gt;Hi guys,
<DIV></DIV>&gt; I used to have big time rubbing
problems with my old rims (Borbet M's).
<DIV></DIV>&gt;I found out the offset was wrong. I've
since replaced them with Enkei's
<DIV></DIV>&gt;with the proper offset and I have no
problems. Offset on these cars is
<DIV></DIV>&gt;crucial. Here's my setup that
absolutely doesn't rub:
<DIV></DIV>&gt;
<DIV></DIV>&gt;H+R Sport Springs
<DIV></DIV>&gt;Boge Turbogas Struts
<DIV></DIV>&gt;Enkei RS5 16" Rims
<DIV></DIV>&gt;BFG 205-40-16 Euro TA's
<DIV></DIV>&gt;Neuspeed Front Tie Bar
<DIV></DIV>&gt;Eurosport Rear Tie Bar
<DIV></DIV>&gt;
<DIV></DIV>&gt;I get a pretty good ride (feels more
like a mid-size in the way it takes
<DIV></DIV>&gt;tar-strips) and I can carry three
people easy. This is on a 16V too by the
<DIV></DIV>&gt;way. Sits nice and low and is very good
at AutoX. Easy on the pocket book
<DIV></DIV>&gt;too. Anyways, hope the offset idea
helps....

<DIV></DIV>&gt; &gt; you fit 3 people in a scirocco, 2
in front and one lying down in the

<DIV></DIV>&gt; &gt;
<DIV></DIV>&gt; &gt; I never foudn anyone wanting to
sit in the rear seats of a rocco
<DIV></DIV>&gt; &gt; before...must be my age group
thing, old folks don't like to perform
<DIV></DIV>&gt; &gt; gymnastics inside a car to get in
or out.. hehe
<DIV></DIV>&gt; &gt;
<DIV></DIV>&gt; &gt; To answer your question, what
suspension do you have on there (shocks and
<DIV></DIV>&gt; &gt; springs)?
<DIV></DIV>&gt; &gt; My 8v is NOT lowered and it rubs
when I turn (due to 205/50's wide is
<DIV></DIV>&gt;better
<DIV></DIV>&gt; &gt; eh), but a bit of rubbing occurs
when I take a texas dip (its a local road
<DIV></DIV>&gt; &gt; thing) in the rear, or bad crack
in the road in the front will rub
<DIV></DIV>&gt;slightly
<DIV></DIV>&gt; &gt; on the edge of the whell well.. I
am planning to fold the edges.

<DIV></DIV>&gt; &gt;
<DIV></DIV>&gt; &gt; Hey I have an 87 8v rocco, i just
got some new wheels and some 195/50/15
<DIV></DIV>&gt; &gt; sumitomo tires. The car was
lowered before I bought it and i like the
<DIV></DIV>&gt;look,
<DIV></DIV>&gt; &gt; but when I have more than one
person in the car the tires tend to rub over
<DIV></DIV>&gt; &gt; bumps. When i have 3 people in
the car the rear tires will rub by just
<DIV></DIV>&gt; &gt; speeding up, althought they are a
55 series tire, so that might make a
<DIV></DIV>&gt; &gt; difference. Anyways, I like the
look of the car and want it to stay low
<DIV></DIV>&gt;but
<DIV></DIV>&gt; &gt; i want to make the suspension
stiffer...i think whoever put the suspension
<DIV></DIV>&gt; &gt; on to lower it may have cut the
springs but i havent checked it out.
<DIV></DIV>&gt;Anyone
<DIV></DIV>&gt; &gt; with any ideas on a good
suspension (low and firm enough to autocross) for
<DIV></DIV>&gt;a
<DIV></DIV>&gt; &gt; pretty decent price please email
me back!

you all updated!!
