That's the Kamei (or was it Zender?) bi-level rear spoiler. Factory GTX
piece. Dirk has one, of course. :)

The Scirocco hatch glass letters actually can be found on some early US-spec
Mk2 cars ('82 at least). Keep your eyes out for a rear window. They're not
SUPER rare, but they aren't easy to find. I'm not sure if they all came
without rear wipers or not...
