2.0 8v

hey guys, it's been a while...
hope everyone is doing well!

just wanted to let you know that i finally put the x-flow 2.0 8v into my
rocco a couple months ago, started
up first shot!
the engine was out of a 94 jetta that i've had in my garage for 3 years
... i installed the motronic (OBD1)
and everything,

it runs well and it's pretty quick, power really dies out after 5500rpm
though

here's some info about it....

motormounts:
     stock A1 motor mount brackets
     TT front
HD pass. side mount (diesel w/ AC)
     VW Motorsport rear mount
stock driver side mount (the nice one that potter sells pre
pressed)

coolant system:
16v scirocco no a/c radiator, w/ capped off overflow nipple
     ABA upper rad hose
     ABA lower rad hose
slightly modified the plastic thermostat housing to allow for more
play
custom made copper adapter to mate ABA hose to A1 heater hose (IN,
from head to heater core)
custom cut hose (OUT, from heater core through heater control to
metal tube that goes around the
block) ..be careful, the A1 and ABA hoses are inverted!
used a stock A1 overflow reservoir
     the pink pentosin fluid

fuel system:
5/16" I.D. fuel injection rubber hose
     digifant (ex:92 golf 8v) fuel filter w/ 2 5/16" nipples
filter mounted with CIS fuel filter mount bolted to rain tray

accessory belt system:
     no A/C, no power steering
     ABA alternator
stock ABA water pump pulley (for no a/c, no p/s)
stock ABA tensioner, used washers to space it out a bit but it's
still too tight, i'll have to ding in the
body a bit to clearance it more
     A1 lower timing belt cover
ABA upper timing belt cover, cut a bit to fit around the motor
mount

exhaust:
     euro A1 8v dual manifold
custom 16mm metal spacer with elongated studs
     euro 8v downpipe
2" TT exhaust ... needs upgrading! the dynomax is a real piece of
junk

transmission:
     "2Y" 020 16v tranny
16v clutch and 16v pressure plate (if you use an older 8v tranny,
you'll need an 8v clutch), fyi, the new
A3 8v trannies have "16v" input shafts
old 8v flywheel, the ABA one is 2x the size!
     stock A1 100mm driveshafts

misc:
     neuspeed 268 cam
     giac chip

only problem is a crappy idle and doesn't always start first shot when
cold, but a new set of wires/plugs
should fix that.

got some nice nokian tires too, haka1's w/ studs for the winter.
