Full profile on my car available on scirocco.org, but they're Schrick 260's.

No.  Had the head rebuilder check them, all within spec.  All reused 
with no problems.  I've
felt what might have been valve float at a sustained high speed in 
the neighborhood of
130+ mph and 6900+ (indicated) rpms.   The motor just seemed to go a 
bit soft at that
speed, especially after maintaining it for minutes.  (This was the 
somewhat famous 407etr
run in Canada a couple years back).  Car pulls strong to 7k+ with no 
evident 'softness'
during acceleration runs...Motronic engine management sets the rev 
limiter at 7900 anyway,
so it's no problem.

Probably won't matter much really, get new ones if you need them. 
Running more then
the 260's, I probably would have put in HD springs.  266-268's are 
right on the cut-off
line IMO.
