Passat VR6 KaKa



1)The lower mount is held in place by a "cup cover" that has 3 13mm (i
think) nuts, the studs are welded in place.  Warning! if you bust these off,
you're screwed.  Once you remove the cup cover, there is a donut shaped
mount with a 8mm(it think) socket head bolt.  This goes through the hole in
the lower mount, through the crossmember, and into the upper mount.   If you
are missing this bolt, I'm suprised that the engine hasn't made a nice dent
in the hood.  I would not...repeat...not drive this car until the mount was
secured.

FWIW, the front lower mount is one of the worst engine mounts VW ever
designed.  Generally these are replaced with the Turn-2 Whipple mount, which
in basic terms is two hockey pucks and a big assed washer.
