vavle spring compressor

So, I'm doing this valve job on my 8v, and I'm using this really shoddy Auto 
Zone valve spring compressor... And it worked on the first two valves, but 
can't seem to get it to fit on #3.

Does anyone have one that will definitely work on a VW either for sale or 
for rent? Or any suggestions?

I found a $110 one on motorworks, but methinks I can do cheaper.

Any help is of course greatly appreciated.
