Value of a '78

Hi List,
Got the email below from somene visiting my webpage. You guys/gals have an
opinion on what a Scirocco like this is worth? I would love to get this kind
of dollars for mine(IF I were ever to sell it).

I, too, have had a 78 Scirocco since new. It has been stored most of the
time under a cover in the garage. It is pretty well stock, in new condition
both mechanically and body, silver with black interior, blaupunkt stereo,
bosch auxiliaries, custom cover. Mileage is about 65,000 miles. I have
original brochures, manual, etc.
We are running out of room in our garage and I wonder what kind of value a
car like this would have. The dealer who I originally bought the car from
has offered me $7500.00 Cdn. I don't know if this is a good price or not.
The car is absolutely rust free with original paint. Do you have any idea or
know of someone I could contact?
