Public thanks

Dan,

Thanks, I'll dig up that belt for you and send it. Where do you want it to
go?

The drivers seat was by far more difficult to adjust as it has the lift
mechanism under it. I separated the rods, the mounting rail, and the pan
from the main hoop. The main hoop needed to be raised relative to the seat
so a slice was made 3/4 of the way through the under side about half way
back on each side. It was forced up towards the seat 1". A skin was welded
over each pie shaped gap and then the pan, rods and mounting rail were
re-attached. Since the relative length of the seat frame got longer by this
I needed to put a new stop on the height bar to keep the bushing in place.
The rod for the forward backward latch needed to be lengthened by about
1-1/4" so a piece of rod was sectioned into it at the rear so that it could
still slide in the latch.

The passengers seat was easy. The sliders on the rear legs was removed and
re-attached about 1-1/2" higher. The legs were cut down and we were done.

I'm really pleased that this turned out ok. I fully expected to have to do
the drivers seat over again to get it right. I wish I didn't have to run to
the shower as I'd have liked to park my butt in there and see what the
changes did. Oh well, next visit.

Dan, remember to take them out come spring and give the welds a shot from a
rattle can to keep the rusting to a minimum.

Rick Alexander

driver's side, he made 2 cuts, one on each side and bent the front down.
Then there was lots of welding to reinforce the cuts and make stuff go back
on where it should (like the rod to make the seat slide back and forth). For
the passenger side, he just cut down the back bars and rewelded the brackets
back on. Now my legs fit under the steering wheel and my passengers can fit
in my car. On a side note, Rick, I left the passenger seatbelt clip
somewhere in your garage...
