A2 trans into A1 body q'

Your tranny and axles should just bolt right up. The case is different
on the transmissions that were made to use 100 mm flanges. There is no room
for clearance for the 100mm flanges on the cases made for 90 mm flanges. I
just put my new tranny built by V/L in Hillsboro OR In my 79 Scirocco
coupled to a 1800 cc 85 Audi engine 10.1 compression and a 272 hydraulic
cam. The tranny is built on a 9A case but I am using 90 mm flanges. I used
the drivers side axle that was in my 79 Scirocco which had an FF tranny in
it when I bought it and the right side axle I borrowed from my 80 Rabbit
pickup which also had an FF tranny. I bet if you measure from the outside of
one flange to the other you will probably find the width is pretty much the
same on the FN or your 9A. My new tranny Is installed in my 79 Scirocco and
it is totally awesome. Here are the spec's. 9A case, Quaife diff. (everybody
should have a Quaife ), 3.89 final, 3.45 1st, 2.11 2nd, 1.44 3rd, 1.12 4th,
.91 5th, and .71 6th. The transmission was rebuilt by Vince Lacerio using
his V/L sixth speed adapter.
