First time post to the list....two questions....

Hey all,
I have been lurking on the list for a few months now. Just wanted to say 
hi to everyone. So...on to my questions...
I am rebuilding an 8v engine from a 89 Cabrio. It's Jh code. I am 
putting it in my 8v 86 scirocco. My first question is this...do i have 
to replace the
rod bolts? Even if this is just a daily driver stock engine 
configuration? The Cabrio engine had 90,000 miles on it at the time of 
me tearing it down.
Second question is....do i really need to remove the plugs in the oil 
gallies on the crank to clean them correctly? I have cleaned them with a 
bristle gun
brush...is this ok? Again...daily driver....just configuration....Anyone 
have experience with this? Advice?
