Doughnut Downpipe Clamps

Well they do make a tool for it, but screw that. Just try and find something triangular and hard(ok maybe not that easy to find but if you look hard enough there's something that will work in every garage, er maybe every other garage). Anyway pound that thing point first into the C-clamp to spread it. There are lots of ways to come up with, but you're pretty much always going to be under the oil pan, sorry!

Anyone have suggestions for removing the often-times rusty and stubborn
"doughnut" downpipe C clamps? The last motor pull I just clanged them with a
BIG screwdriver and mallet until they shot off while I hid beneath the
oilpan, NOT fun.

Any help would be great!

Thanks,
