  No PS

But by a stroke of good fortune we had a BBQ and a guy who turned up happened to be the chief mechanic of my local VW specialist (local as in 10 miles away). anyway he was looking at the cars so we got chatting an eventually he took it out for a drive, got underneath (in his good clobber) and he thinks the camber is out (well done to who suggested that)

I also asked him about the couple of other little things (electric window jumping of the guide, the never can be found oil leak where the bottom of the block is coated in oil but the oil level never drops!) and he said bring it in after hours and he'll sort it out for some beer!

Do you have PS? Does it feel like you just have more PS boost than normal
(i.e. your 'rocco is doing an impersonation of a Toyota)? If so, it could
be that the pressure valve in the PS pump is stuck open or something. I've
never verified that this is happening, but my car's PS gets really light for
brief instants on a rare occaision, and this was the explanation I have come
up with for it (and, as usual, have done nothing about, DOH!.
