fuel pump question

ok. it turns out its just a simple fuse replacement.
the #5 fuse. unfortunately i've already gone through 2
fuses, any other fuses will probably blow too. What
could be causing these fuses to blow? i checked the
battery and there was some acid that i cleaned off.
