16v timing question



Hmm, this just gave me an idea for what could be wrong with my car...
which computer is responsible for timing advance on the 16v engine?

I think my knock box is pretty much dead (it's not sending out a fuel pump
relay signal anymore) and maybe the reason my car runs so much better with
the distributor set at full advance (way past 6 deg) is that the normal
advance isn't working at all so it's just running at base timing all the
time.
