Drag Racing part 2 very long

I hate to be "that guy", but since you are going to be tearing the car down
so far, why not just start with a beaten on 8V if your 16v is in halfway
decent condition?

1) You'd have way less junk to remove
2) You could save a 16V from needless wreckage
3) cheap 8V's are pretty easy to find and in need of a beating

I MUST be getting older. I always laughed at people who made this argument.
It's true though. Why ruin a perfectly good car to just tear it down? You
could do the same thing with less effort on a partially beaten car that is
one wheel into the wrecking yard already.

My 2 cents,

Lots and lots of idea's. I may shelf the EFI for now. After the wedding
(Sept 7th) I am going to start stripping everything out of the Scirocco.
Other than the motor there won't be much left to know the poor thing started
life as a real 16V.

On a side note. Everything that get's pulled off will be for sale. Body
kit, interior, glass, dash, rear spoiler, power mirror's, park bench's
(bumpers), etc....

Any hoo, getting to the point. Does anyone have a Weber Intake for a 16V?
I have seen them and I know of at least two guys in Columbus that have them.
Setting up a crank trigger and MSD or Holley Ignition are looking very
do-able. That and I was talking to a buddie at work tonight who can grant
me access to a mill to build adapters. Holley 350 CFM 2bbls' would work
perfectly. They have very good slow speed response, and they have
progressive linkage. That means no bogging. HA aha ha ha ha... I love the
way my mind works sometimes.
