Piston interchangability

Hello!! I heard someone talking a few days ago,that he transplanted =
pistons from his 16V Rocco into his 8V Rocco;and that it worked good,has =
lots of power;but since his CR is something like 13:1 to 14:1 he has to =
run race gas & a diesel starter to turn it over.Is this really =
possible?? I have a block from a 16V that has a set of pistons I can use =
for this;what mods would have to be done to make this work?? BTW,my car =
is used on the speedway;not on the road,so using race gas is fine.TIA! =
