i hate problems like this (clutch)

  Sorry the knowledgable guys (people?) here couldn't diagnose for you.
Understand, it's not easy to guess at a problem when the problem is many
miles away and there are an almost infinite number of causes. ....
 Be SURE to let the list know what the shop finds out.  (and tell the shop
you want ALL the parts they replace....just to keep them semi-honest)  After
this, you will BE one of the experts.....at least in this particular area:)
