Gas tank issue

The tank for the scirocco was used on the cabriolets from 85>, Jettas and
Some golf's
in Texas they had 2 tanks in STOCK at the dealer.

I just did mine this weeken (thank you Brian Wagner for the space on the
garage to do this 8 hr work
I had to get my tak from scrap yard,(my car was 85, they did not want to
honor it and I had no real wantings to deal with dealers anyways)
go mthe tank off an 87 cabriolet and got it cleaned/sealed and tested) total
cost was 175$ (tank 50$, refurn 125$)

after futsing with the car (gawd this is a long procedure, not difficult but
long under texas sun @ 80'F)
but I got it done and changed the fuel hoses also at the same time. (mine
where where hard to bend)

everything is done, and I am happy camper the 85 is on the road safely
again!

=>Do they have enough new gas tanks left in their inventory??
=>Curious, since my car's recall was not performed and the
=>tank hardly leaks. But I think I will get it done soon
=>just to make sure they don't give me a.."we no longer
=>carry the part" treatment when I eventually need it!
