[Elec.] damn short!

   Ok, why is it on my Buicks, which covers three decades, whenever I got a 
short circuit fuses would keep blowing until you fix the short, while on the 
'rocco I had an intermitant short that wouldn't do anything but drain the 
battery? 
  I found it after disconnecting nearly everything from the fuse block, first 
the fuses, then relays, then the plugs behind the fuse block. Ends up being 
one of the switches on the master cylinder; unplug it and the car stopped 
pulling 12.35V at the battery. 
  Fun stuff.
