Allyn, how much higher do you think you can rev a 1.8l 16v versus a 2.0l?
Are the stock redlines farther apart than 1k rpms? I really don't think so.
Furthermore, the cams are the same on both motors and therefore run out of
steam at the same time. The logic behind the smaller motor having a higher
specific output at high rpms might hold some water. However, given the
miniscule (if any) difference in rev potential between the two motors, I can
not fathom that the 1.8l will be able to outperform the 2.0l. -not at *any*
rpm.
