2.5) ALWAYS treat bare metal with acid (sold at paint
houses) BEFORE painting anything. Turns whatever is
left on the bare matal into black rust which is
chemically inert, so it does not rust back again.
Trust me, done it very often as I live in the land of
the rust buckets...
