What tranny is this?

    tell them its for an 88 scirocco. 84 should work as well, i think. the ones you are getting
probably have too small of an inner hole. a 4k is an 020 tranny, which is the same type of tranny
that was on ANY vw up till about 89 or so. honestly the seals may not be too bad to get from the
dealer (from a cost perspective).
    i dont think 4k's ever came in roccos. it is, however, one of those 'sought after'
transmissions, as its very close ratio. the disadvantage is that 5th gear is also narrow (as if it
was 4th gear of a normal tranny). another disadvantage only applies if you dont like alot of
shifting gears while driving.
