has anyone shipped seats before?

i am looking at purchasing 2 corrado front seats from a guy in NH. he says 
he'll have to ship them via trucking co. because they are too big to go ups. 
my ? is if you put each front seat in it's own box and sent them as two 
packages wouldn't ups take them and wouldn't it be cheaper then using a 
trucking co?
